Alex O’Dell is a co-founder and COO of Floyd, a Detroit-based e-comm furniture brand that creates original designs for the home. Alex founded Floyd with Kyle Hoff in 2013 out of a reaction to disposable furniture. They set out to design products that last through timeless design, honest materials, and adaptability in the products for how people live today. Their success has established Floyd as a leading brand. Today, their furniture is in the homes of over 50,000 customers, and the company has grown to over 50 employees and raised $20m in financing to-date. Their long term aim is to build the world’s most beloved furniture brand. Alex studied Public Policy at the University of Michigan, and besides well-designed chairs, loves cycling and photography.
